North India shivers from intense cold, relief unlikely in 48 hours

North India is experiencing a severe cold wave with snowfall in higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh. Plains of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are facing dense fog and rain, pushing down temperatures. IMD forecasts continued wintry conditions for the next 24-48 hours.
