A tragic derailment of the Interoceanic Train in southern Mexico has claimed at least 13 lives and injured 98 passengers. The accident occurred near Nizanda, halting vital rail traffic connecting the Pacific and Gulf coasts. Inaugurated last year, the train is a key part of Mexico’s ambitious plan to develop the Isthmus of Tehuantepec into a major trade corridor.
