A major credit card firm faces a hefty penalty after wrongly tagging a customer as a loan defaulter despite a ‘no dues’ certificate from 2007. The consumer was hounded with calls for unpaid dues years later. The Chandigarh Consumer Commission ordered the company to clear the CIBIL error and pay Rs 20,000 for harassment and mental agony.
