Assam: Govt okays widening of section of NH-715 to 4 lanes; to cost Rs 6.9K cr

The Cabinet approved a Rs 6,957 crore project to widen and improve the 86-km Kalibor-Numaligarh section of NH-715 in Assam, including 34.5 km of elevated sections through Kaziranga National Park. This initiative aims to eliminate human-animal conflict by abandoning the existing highway, allowing unhindered animal movement and boosting tourism while ensuring wildlife safety.
