Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made explosive allegations against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, citing a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe and raising concerns over national security. Sarma claimed that Gogoi and his family have links involving Pakistan during a pre-Modi era and said the matter warrants forensic and electronic investigation by central agencies. Dismissing claims that the issue is election-driven, Sarma challenged Gogoi to publicly deny the allegations. He also defended his remarks on “Miya Muslims,” stating they refer to alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators and calling his stance a constitutional responsibility.
