“Congress MPs Might Try Something”: Speaker Says Asked PM To Skip Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address was cancelled in view of an alarm that the Congress had planned a physical attack on him, government sources said. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said even he received information that some Opposition MPs could do “something unexpected” and adjourned the House to save ugly scenes in the temple of democracty. The Congress snubbed the charge and said the prime minister was scared to speak.
