Gang-rape case: Karnataka BJP MLA Munirathna, 4 aides get SIT clean chit; plaint found to be false

A special investigation team (SIT) of CID has submitted a closure report to the high court, stating that the gang rape complaint against BJP MLA N Munirathna Naidu and his associates was found to be false. The court adjourned the hearing on Munirathna’s petition to Sept 17 and extended the interim order restraining police action against him.
