An Indian-origin scholar, identified as Tellis, has been detained by US authorities on charges of unlawfully retaining over 1,000 pages of classified national defense information. The documents, marked “SECRET” and “TOP SECRET,” were discovered at his Virginia home. Authorities also allege Tellis met with Chinese officials multiple times.
