Police have questioned several ambulance drivers in connection with the stampede at actor-politician Vijay’s election rally in Karur on September 27. According to officials, five to six drivers – from both government and private ambulance services — appeared before investigators. Police are probing who summoned the ambulances, how many emergency calls were received by hospitals, and the total number of ambulances deployed that day.
