Mumbai rains overwhelm drains: BMC eyes 120mm/hour upgrade; 80 new flooding spots found

Mumbai’s drainage system is set for a major overhaul after recent intense downpours exposed its limitations. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to increase drainage capacity in vulnerable areas to handle up to 120mm of rainfall per hour, more than double the current 55mm capacity.
