Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Iranian drama ’It Was Just an Accident’ arrested in Tehran

Mehdi Mahmoudian, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter behind the Iranian film ‘It Was Just an Accident’, was arrested in Tehran on Saturday, just weeks ahead of the 2024 Academy Awards
