‘Practically impossible to avoid’: Agarkar on Gill taking over ODI reins from Rohit

Shubman Gill has been named India’s ODI captain, replacing Rohit Sharma, as part of a strategic move to consolidate leadership across formats. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar cited long-term planning for the 2027 World Cup and the impracticality of having three different captains.
