Sensex, Nifty fall 0.3% over renewed tensions in Middle East

After a sharp rally on Wednesday, Indian stock markets opened lower on Thursday after renewed Middle East tensions dampened hopes of lasting peace following the Iran-U.S. ceasefire.
The Sensex dropped 0.31% to 77,319.33 while Nifty 50 ⁠fell ​0.37% to 23,909.05.
At 8.05 am, GIFT Nifty futures were trading at 24,010, indicating that Nifty 50 will open near Wednesday’s close of 23,997.35.
