The Indian stock market remained muted on Tuesday, with Sensex and Nifty erasing early gains to close in the red after a sharp rally in the earlier session. Sensex lost 70 points to close at 76,766, while Nifty 50 fell nearly 11 points to end the session at 23,985. Broader markets remained mixed, with Nifty Smallcap 100 closing in the red and Nifty Midcap 100 index ending in the green.
L&T
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 4,123 crore for the April-June quarter of the ongoing financial year 2027, marking nearly 14% year-on-year (YoY) rise from the Rs 3,617 crore net profit reported in the same period last year. The engineering major’s revenue from operations meanwhile rose around 7% YoY to Rs 67,942 crore during the June quarter of FY27, from Rs 63,679 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26.
Tata Capital reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,547 crore for the first quarter of FY27, marking more than 56% YoY rise from the Rs 990 crore net profit reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The firm’s revenue from operations meanwhile rose over 15% YoY to Rs 8,822 crore during the April-June quarter of the ongoing financial year 2027, from Rs 7,665 crore reported in the year-ago period.
Ambuja Cement reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 577 crore for the first quarter of FY27, marking a 34% year-on-year drop from Rs 869 crore posted in the same quarter last year. The Adani Group company’s revenue from operations also slid 7.5% to Rs 9,474 crore from Rs 10,244 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Suzlon Energy reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 305 crore for the first quarter of FY27, marking nearly 6% YoY decline from the Rs 324 crore net profit reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. While net profit declined, the renewable energy player’s revenue from operations rose more than 22.5% YoY to Rs 3,819 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 3,117 crore in the year-ago period. The shares of the company were trading at Rs 50.55 apiece on NSE after the release of the results.

RVNL
RVNL has fixed August 18 as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for its final dividend of Rs 0.71 per share. It also announced that it has received LOA from East Central Railway for a Rs 359 crore order. It is associated with the construction of doubling work including earth work, blanketing, minor bridges, major bridges, station & other buildings, platform work, LC work and other miscellaneous works for Sitamarhi-Raxaul section in Samastipur Division of East Central Railway.
Phoenix Mills reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 297 crore, marking 23% YoY increase in Q1 FY27. Consolidated revenue meanwhile rose 13% YoY to Rs 1,075 crore
VST Industries’ profit after tax stood at Rs 42.4 crore in Q1 FY27, as against Rs 56.1 crore in the year-ago period and Rs 116.7 crore in Q4 FY26. The firm’s cigarette volume fell over 14% QoQ to 611 million on an average per month during the first quarter of FY27.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) announced that its board of directors approved the proposal to provide Parent Company Guarantee (PCG) of $500 million in favour of Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) for the period 01.09.2026 to 31.08.2028 on behalf of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), to enable MRPL to import crude oil from Saudi Aramco.
