Supreme Court-Appointed Panel Inspects Bannerghatta Park Over Eco-Zone Shrinkage

Chandra Prakash Goyal, member of the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) constituted by the Supreme Court, visited Bannerghatta National Park (BNP) on Friday over plans to shrink the eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) surrounding one of Bengaluru’s key green lungs.
After commercial activities forced BNP’s buffer zone to shrink by nearly 100 sq km in the last six years, activists have approached the Supreme Court.
