Tehran cuts ties with IAEA after ‘snapback sanctions’; ends Cairo Agreement

Iran announced it ended cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, IAEA, citing reimposed “snapback” sanctions and recent military tensions. Foreign Minister Araghchi declared the Cairo Agreement invalid, criticising Western pressure tactics. This decision follows a June war where Israel, then the US, attacked Iranian nuclear sites, leading to Iran’s retaliation and a ceasefire.
