A video of a violent assault from Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria is going viral on social media. In Gobarai village under the Kotwali police station area, a group of men can be seen brutally beating a young man with slippers, slaps and a belt. The attackers even forced the victim to lick a slipper after spitting on it. In the video, it is clearly visible that the young man is pleading with them to let him go. However, the assailants ignore his cries and continue to thrash him relentlessly with slaps and a belt. The video is now being widely circulated on social media. After it went viral, the police swung into action and have begun efforts to arrest the accused.
