US-China: Trump threatens to ‘ban’ software exports to China; sets this deadline

President Donald Trump announced plans to impose a 100% tariff on Chinese goods, in addition to existing taxes, and implement software export controls starting November 1st, 2025. This move comes in response to what Trump described as China’s “extraordinarily aggressive position on Trade” and a “hostile letter” to the world regarding export controls.
