The United States has relocated additional MIM-104 Patriot missile system batteries to Osan Air Base, raising speculation that some defence assets could be redeployed to the Middle East amid tensions with Iran. Defence sources say the systems were consolidated from several US installations across South Korea, with large transport aircraft such as the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy and Boeing C-17 Globemaster III spotted at the base.
