In its latest mutual fund analysis, ETMarkets highlighted the stocks that witnessed the largest increase in mutual fund holdings in August 2026 compared with July 2026. The report revealed that 53 stocks witnessed net additions of more than 1 crore shares each by mutual fund houses.We applied a second filter, focusing on stocks that not only witnessed significant mutual fund accumulation but also delivered gains in the range of 10-30% since the beginning of August. This two-step screening narrowed the universe to eight standout stocks, reflecting both strong institutional demand and robust market performance.

One97 Communications

The stock has staged a 29% rally since the start of August 2026, rising from Rs 1,341 to Rs 1,731. The sharp price move has been accompanied by a notable increase in mutual fund ownership, with holdings climbing to 13.67 crore shares in August, up from 12.04 crore shares in July. The stock is now held across 337 mutual fund schemes, with the combined value of these holdings standing at Rs 23,465 crore.

TD Power Systems

TD Power Systems has surged 28% since the beginning of August, advancing from Rs 566 to Rs 725. Mutual funds have also stepped up their exposure, with total holdings more than doubling to 7.93 crore shares in August, compared with 3.71 crore shares in July. The holdings are spread across 108 schemes, with a combined value of Rs 6,163 crore.

Urban Company

Urban Company has gained 22% since the start of August, moving from Rs 129 to Rs 158. During the same period, mutual fund holdings increased to 18.63 crore shares, from 14.86 crore shares in July. The stock features across 82 schemes, with mutual fund holdings valued at Rs 3,114 crore.

Lenskart Solutions

Lenskart Solutions has delivered a 22% rally since the beginning of August, climbing from Rs 561 to Rs 685. Mutual fund ownership has moved higher as well, reaching 25.84 crore shares in August, versus 23.12 crore shares a month earlier. The stock is held across 202 schemes, with total mutual fund holdings worth Rs 17,119 crore.

Rubicon Research

Rubicon Research has jumped 22% since the start of August, rising from Rs 1,493 to Rs 1,815. At the same time, mutual fund ownership has nearly doubled to 2.27 crore shares, compared with 1.19 crore shares in July. The holdings are spread across 51 schemes, with a combined value of Rs 4,137 crore.

Devyani International

Devyani International has climbed 19% since the beginning of August, moving from Rs 114 to Rs 136. Mutual funds have increased their holdings to 21.00 crore shares in August, up from 19.32 crore shares in July. The stock is held across 93 schemes, with the combined value of mutual fund holdings at Rs 2,914 crore.

Meesho

Meesho has gained 17% since the start of August, rising from Rs 182 to Rs 212. Mutual fund ownership has also picked up, with holdings increasing to 50.27 crore shares from 41.84 crore shares in July. The stock is now present across 144 schemes, representing a combined holding value of Rs 10,326 crore.

Vodafone Idea

Vodafone Idea has advanced 11% since the beginning of August, moving from Rs 13.01 to Rs 14.47. Mutual fund holdings edged higher to 652.90 crore shares in August, compared with 636.51 crore shares in July. The holdings are spread across 184 schemes, with a combined value of Rs 9,356 crore.

Indegene

Indegene has rallied 11% since the start of August, climbing from Rs 515 to Rs 571. Meanwhile, mutual fund ownership has more than doubled to 2.78 crore shares, from 1.28 crore shares in July. The stock is held across 77 schemes, with the combined value of these holdings at Rs 1,701 crore.

City Union Bank

City Union Bank has risen 9% since the beginning of August, moving from Rs 206 to Rs 226. Mutual fund ownership has also increased, reaching 36.77 crore shares in August, compared with 35.70 crore shares in July. The holdings are spread across 147 schemes, with a combined value of Rs 8,427 crore.
