Shares of IT major Wipro are likely to remain in focus heading into trade on Wednesday after the IT services company announced the launch of an Applied AI Center of Excellence (CoE) for Claude models powered by Anthropic.
According to the company, the initiative is aimed at strengthening its ability to scale enterprise AI adoption using Claude models across client engagements and internal operations.
Wipro said the capabilities developed through the CoE will be integrated across the Wipro Intelligence stack, including its delivery, functional and industry platforms, with the objective of embedding AI into business workflows across sectors.
As part of the initiative, the company has been building a global pool of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) trained on Claude models. These engineers are expected to work within client environments and combine knowledge of business processes, technology systems and model behaviour to support AI implementation. Wipro said the approach is intended to accelerate AI integration into enterprise workflows and focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
The company stated that the Applied AI CoE for Claude models will also serve as a development hub for AI-native platforms and industry-specific solutions spanning sectors such as mortgage, healthcare, airlines, manufacturing and consumer businesses.
Claude models will be integrated into Wipro's platforms to support co-innovation initiatives with clients in live operating environments. The company also plans to expand the use of AI across its own finance, human resources and sales functions as part of its internal transformation efforts.
A key component of the programme is the planned certification of 10,000 front-line delivery experts in the use of Claude models over the next 18 months. Wipro said the certification initiative is designed to create a large pool of practitioners capable of designing, deploying and managing AI-enabled systems in enterprise environments.
Commenting on the development, Wipro Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Srini Pallia said the company is strengthening its enterprise AI capabilities through the Applied AI Center of Excellence for Claude models. He added that the initiative aligns with Wipro's strategy of being consulting-led and AI-powered, while combining Claude models with the company's domain and enterprise expertise to drive business outcomes for clients.
Pallia also said that embedding Forward Deployed Engineers within client environments, alongside integrating AI into Wipro's own operations, is intended to support enterprise-scale AI adoption with a focus on business value.
According to the company, the launch of the CoE marks another step in its efforts to operate as an AI-native enterprise by combining platform integration, model expertise and embedded delivery capabilities to support AI adoption at scale.
