President Donald Trump told ABC News that it remains possible the U.S. will become involved in the Iran-Israel conflict and that he would be “open” to Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin being a mediator. This after Putin expressed willingness to defuse tensions and resolve issues surrounding Iran’s nuclear program in phone call with Trump on Saturday. Meanwhile, Russia evacuated its citizens from Iran and temporarily halted consulate activity on Sunday as Israel and the Islamic Republic continued to trade ballistic missile fire.
