Ram Rahim, who is serving jail time in a murder-sexual exploitation case, surprised everyone by coming to Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa on Tuesday. Previously, whenever he got parole or furlough, he would go directly to Baghpat, UP. The Dera management argues that there was always a demand to let Ram Rahim go to Sirsa. However, the government would not give permission. There is also discussion that Ram Rahim will only be able to stay here for 10 days. After that, he will have to go to UP's Baghpat ashram for 20 days. However, everyone wants to know what reason Ram Rahim gave this time that the government had to give him permission in his 12th parole in 7.5 years. When Dainik Bhaskar spoke to those close to the Dera, 4 reasons emerged, including disputes over the Dera's billion-worth property and issues between Dera management and family. 4 reasons for Ram Rahim coming to Sirsa Dera… 1. Attempt to maintain trust among followers
Ram Rahim received parole or furlough for the 12th time in 7.5 years. Previously, he stayed in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh 11 times. Sources close to the Dera say that this caused discontent among Dera followers. They have had a stronger connection with Shah Satnam Dham in Sirsa. There was discussion among devotees that if parole or furlough is being granted repeatedly despite life imprisonment in serious cases like murder-sexual abuse, then what power is stopping Ram Rahim from coming to Sirsa. Could it be that he himself is maintaining distance from here. Ram Rahim also got wind of this. To prevent followers from losing faith, Ram Rahim came to Sirsa and tried to convey the message that he always wanted to come to Sirsa but the government would not give permission. 2. Dera's property worth billions, all documents at Sirsa headquarters
In 2017, the Haryana government prepared details of Dera's property. In which it was stated that the property of Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa is worth 1,453 crores. This report was submitted to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. It was also stated that Dera has property worth 1600 crores across the entire state. The government had also said that their price could be one and a half times more. Apart from Haryana, the Dera has property in Sriganganagar, Hanuman Garh of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab. The Dera has invaluable land of more than 900 acres on Sirsa-Nathusari Chopta-Bhadra Road. In addition, there is a five-star hotel, a cinema hall, a multi-specialty hospital, 8 educational institutions, a shopping mall, a cricket stadium, luxurious houses and 30 industrial units. This property remains under the person sitting on the Dera's throne. All their supervision and documents etc. are maintained from Sirsa headquarters. In such a situation, it is believed that there is no issue regarding the property. Whether the situation is the same as before regarding this can be discussed with the Ram Rahim Dera Management Committee. 3. Dispute between family, management and Honeypreet over control of Dera
After Ram Rahim went to jail, there was also a dispute over the operation of the Dera. It split into 3 groups. The first group was the Dera Management Committee, the second was Ram Rahim's family, and the third was Ram Rahim's adopted daughter Honeypreet. After the dispute with the Dera Committee, Ram Rahim's family went abroad. Ram Rahim's two daughters Amarpreet and Charanpreet Kaur had already gone to London. Two years ago, son Jasmeet also went to London with his family. At that time, there was a discussion that after Ram Rahim went to jail, they had a dispute with Honeypreet over the operation of the Dera. During that time, there was also discussion that after Ram Rahim went to jail, donations or charity were being collected in the name of Dera Sacha Sauda. The family had also issued a clarification on social media regarding this that their name was being misused. However, after the family went abroad, Honeypreet's interference in the dera increased. This was causing disputes with the management committee. Since Honeypreet is closest to Ram Rahim, this was creating distrust within the management committee as well. Seeing this, Ram Rahim had written several letters from jail saying that he is the guru but the Dera committee wanted to talk to him directly. This was not easily possible at the Baghpat ashram. In such a situation, Ram Rahim wants to come to Sirsa and resolve this issue once and for all. 4. Parole timing matches with Delhi elections, BJP out of power for 27 years
Ram Rahim's parole timing is being linked to the Delhi Assembly elections. Voting is scheduled for February 5 in Delhi. Since BJP is in power in Haryana, the opposition alleges that Ram Rahim was given parole before the elections to help the BJP. BJP has been out of power in Delhi for 27 years. Political experts of Delhi believe that Ram Rahim could influence about 10 seats in Delhi bordering Haryana. In such a situation, the BJP could benefit from this. Earlier, when he got parole before the Rajasthan and Haryana assembly elections, governments with full majority were formed in both places. Ram Rahim got life imprisonment in 2 cases, acquitted in third but case reached Supreme Court 1. Life imprisonment in sexual exploitation of female ascetics
Ram Rahim was convicted on August 25, 2017 in the sexual exploitation case of 2 female ascetics. After this, he was arrested on August 27, 2017. In this case, on August 28, 2017, he was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. Since then he has been imprisoned in Rohtak's Sunaria jail. 2. Life imprisonment in journalist's murder
After this, on January 11, 2019, he was convicted in the murder case of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati and was sentenced to life imprisonment on January 17, 2019. Ramchandra Chhatrapati had published in his newspaper the letter sent to then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee regarding the sexual exploitation of female ascetics in the Dera. 3. Acquitted in Dera Manager murder case, petition reaches Supreme Court
He was also convicted in the Ranjit Singh murder case in 2021 and sentenced to life imprisonment. On May 28 last year, the Punjab and Haryana High Court acquitted him in this case. However, after this, the CBI filed a petition in the Supreme Court. Ram Rahim has also been issued a notice on this. In this, the CBI had claimed that the letter that was leaked regarding the sexual exploitation of sadhvis in the Dera was written by Ranjit through his sister. After which Ranjit resigned from the post of Dera manager.Original Article
