The country's largest public sector bank, the State Bank of India (SBI), reported a standalone net profit of ₹16,891.44 crore in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25. On an annual basis, this represents an increase of 84.32%. A year ago, in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2023-24, the bank had clocked a profit of ₹9,163.96 crore. On Thursday, the lender's scrip declined 1.79% to close at ₹752 apiece on the BSE. Bank's Total Income Increased by 15.13% In the October-December quarter, the bank's total income increased by 8.69% on an annual basis to ₹1,28,467.39 crore. In the same quarter last year, it was at ₹1,18,192.68 crore. Compared to the previous quarter, it decreased by 0.52%. In the July-September quarter, the bank's total income was ₹1,29,141.11 crore. Net Interest Income Increased by 4% In the October-December quarter, SBI's Net Interest Income (NII) increased by 4% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹41,445.51 crore. In the same quarter last year, it was ₹39,815.73 crore. In the July-September quarter, it was ₹41,619.54 crore. It has marginally declined on a quarterly basis.
