On March 4th, the Nargis Foundation organized a meaningful cancer awareness program commemorating World Cancer Day. The event was graced by prominent personalities including Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre and television star Hina Khan. In a particularly touching moment, Hina Khan shared a deeply personal perspective on cancer screening. She expressed with genuine emotion saying 'You have no idea how peaceful that moment is when your report comes negative. When there is no sign of cancer in your test, what a huge relief it is. People say that money was wasted, but that's not at all true. Rather, you get a pleasant feeling that there is nothing like cancer in your life.' Getting emotional, Hina Khan continues, 'Ask us how difficult it is when you read that report. That bell, whose sound tells you that your test report has arrived and when doctors tell you that cancer has been detected, how painful that moment is. However, I found out about it at the right time and the treatment is ongoing.' According to Hina Khan, many people don't talk about cancer, but we should because awareness is necessary in today's time so that we can motivate people. Everyone has good days and bad days in life, but good days definitely return. More importantly, cancer is curable. Hina said that this is why she has now decided to spread awareness among everyone. Sonali Bendre said, 'While it's natural to fear cancer, we must channel that fear into proactive action. Cancer isn't an unconquerable enemy – modern medicine has made significant strides in treatment. The key lies in regular screening and early detection. When discovered in its initial stages – particularly stage one or two – the chances of successful treatment and recovery increase dramatically.' Hina is suffering from third stage breast cancer On June 28, 2024, Hina revealed on social media that she has stage-3 breast cancer. In her post, Hina wrote, 'Amidst the recent rumours, I want to share some important information with you. I am in the third stage of breast cancer. I am fine. I am strong and determined. I am fully committed to overcoming this illness. My treatment has begun and I am ready to make every possible effort to recover from this even stronger.' Sonali was detected with cancer in 2018 In July 2018, Sonali was diagnosed with cancer and she went to New York for treatment. She stayed there for about 6 months. After treatment, Sonali became cancer-free. Sonali started her career in 1994 with the film 'Naraaz'.Original Article
