Trump Aide Tucker Carlson Claims U.S. Backing Ukraine’s Crackdown On Orthodox Christians

American journalist Tucker Carlson has made a sensational claim that Orthodox Christians are being persecuted in Ukraine—with U.S. support. In an interview with former Ukrainian MP Vadim Novinsky, Carlson alleged that Washington is effectively funding religious oppression through its backing of the Kyiv government. Novinsky described churches being raided by soldiers, priests beaten, and worshippers attacked. Carlson accused President Zelensky’s administration of targeting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In response, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov vowed that Moscow would defend Orthodox believers and ensure their rights are protected inside Ukraine.
