BCCI has put in full effort to get fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah fit in time. A team of 3 specialists at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru are continuously working on Bumrah's fitness. Generally, the BCCI allot one strength-and-conditioning coach, one physio for injury monitoring and a bowling or batting coach. All of the above is part of BCCI's Return to Play (RTP) protocol. A senior board official told PTI, "Strength and Conditioning (SC) coach Rajnikanth Sivagnanam and physio Thulasi Ram Yuvraj are currently working on Bumrah's rehabilitation with Head of Sports Science, Dr Nitin Patel, personally monitoring the whole process. Obviously, the national team SC coach Soham Desai and physio Kamlesh Jain are also kept in the loop." BCCI top brass to take call on Jasprit Bumrah's availability Once the 31-year-old pacer is done and dusted with his recovery process, Nitin Patel will prepare a report for the same. Troy Cooley will monitor Bumrah's bowling and the entire report will be sent to the BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar and secretary Devajit Saikia. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir will be informed about Jasprit's progress and the four will decide then regarding the pacer's participation in the Champions Trophy. Even if there's 1 percent chance, BCCI will wait ICC has set February 12 as the final date for team changes. Before this, all boards have to send their final teams. Indian selectors also have to decide on Bumrah's playing or not playing, which depends on his fitness.
