The much-awaited Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to commence on Friday, February 14, with the first match featuring Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will take place at the Kotambi International Stadium in Vadodara. Prior to the match, Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana will deliver a dazzling performance during the colorful opening ceremony. The stadium, located 22 km from Vadodara on Halol Road, promises an electrifying atmosphere for cricket lovers. Six matches scheduled in Vadodara A total of six league matches will be played at the Kotambi International Stadium. Teams including Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriors will clash on the Vadodara pitch. While most teams have already arrived and started practicing, the UP Warriors are yet to reach the city. Strict security arrangements at the Stadium The BCCI has taken over the Kotambi Stadium from the BCA to ensure smooth conduct of the matches. Around 400 police personnel, led by Vadodara District Police Chief Rohan Anand, will be deployed across traffic points, VIP areas, gates, and parking zones. To avoid overcrowding, gates will open 2.5 hours before the match. Prohibited items like bottles, coins, matchboxes, headphones, and fireworks are strictly banned inside the stadium. Teams and their hotels in Vadodara 400 police personnel deployed for WPL security Vadodara District Police Chief Rohan Anand announced that extensive security arrangements have been made for the Women's Premier League, which begins tomorrow. Approximately 400 police personnel will be on duty to ensure smooth operations during the matches. Officers will be strategically stationed at traffic points, VIP areas, stadium gates, and parking locations. Additional staff will also be deployed as required to manage the crowd and maintain order throughout the event.
