Furthermore, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill are nearing two historic milestones which they can surpass during the mega event. Team India hunt glorious record The Men in Blue are the most successful team in Champions Trophy history with the most wins in the competition (18), they need two more wins to extend their record further. With victories against Pakistan and Bangladesh, India will become the first team ever to win 20 matches in the competition's history. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill chase historic milestones Apart from the collective glory, two Indian players, Shubman and Virat are also nearing individual milestones. Kohli has two illustrious records in his sights, including an all-time Champions Trophy history. Virat can become the leading run-scorer in Champions Trophy history, he needs 263 runs to surpass Chris Gayle for the all-time historic feat. Gayle has 791 runs to his name, but Kohli stands at 529 runs in 13 matches, ahead of what is his fourth appearance in the tournament. Furthermore, Kohli needs only 37 runs to surpass the historic 14,000 ODI runs record. He is currently at 13, 963 runs in 285 innings. The 36-year-old can become the fastest batsman to score 14,000 ODI runs, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara. Gill on the other hand etched his name in the history books by becoming the fastest batsman to score 2500 ODI runs. He surpassed Hashim Amla, and the Indian vice-captain has his sights on another of Amla's records. Shubman can become the fastest batter to cross 3000 ODI runs, he needs 413 runs to achieve the historic milestone.
