The multi-starrer web series Dabba Cartel is releasing on Netflix on February 28. Recently, at the series' trailer launch event, Shabana Azmi revealed that she wanted to get Jyothika removed from this series. She had also discussed this with the series team. After making this confession, Shabana Azmi apologised to Jyothika in front of everyone. At the Dabba Cartel trailer launch event, Shabana Azmi said, "Can I make a confession? I tried to get two actresses removed from this series. One of them is Jyothika." Jyotika was shocked to hear this statement from Shabana Azmi. Further, Shabana Azmi said, "She doesn't know about this. I had repeatedly said to take someone else instead of Jyothika. These people told me that you can do whatever you want, but we won't remove Jyothika from the film." After finishing her statement, Shabana Azmi held her ears in front of everyone and said, "I am very grateful that you did this role. This was completely my mistake." After Shabana Azmi's confession, Jyothika touched her feet. She was asked who was the other actress whom she wanted to remove, however Shabana did not reveal her name.
