In a major development Supreme Court has issued notice against multiple FIRs registered against him in connection with India's Got Latent show. The court has issued notice to the states of Maharashtra and Assam on Chanchalani’s plea. Ashish Chanchlani was granted anticipatory bail On February 12, the Guwahati High Court granted Ashish Chanchlani anticipatory bail and ordered him to appear before the investigating officers within ten days. Released on YouTube on February 8, the show, known for its dark comedy, is being criticised for a vulgar question posed by panelist Ranveer Allahbadia. Regarding the controversy, Assam's CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, on February 10th tweeted about the FIR filed in this matter. He said that Guwahati police have registered a case against some YouTubers and social influencers – Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makheeja, Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others. On February 12, a second FIR in two days was registered against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina in Mumbai. This action was taken by the cyber branch of Maharashtra police. Apart from Ranveer and Samay, a case was also registered against those 30 guests of the show who have participated in the show from the first episode till now. Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association had written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah for a ban on the 'India's Got Latent' show. The association said that such shows are confusing the youth of the country. Ranveer Allahbadia has received relief from the court Earlier on Monday, a hearing was held on Ranveer Allahbadia's appeal in the obscene comment case.
