Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, and the makers of Vimal Pan Masala have been summoned to the Kota Consumer Court. A social activist has filed a complaint in the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission demanding a ban on the advertisement of pan masala. The commission has issued a notice seeking a response. The next hearing in the case will be on April 21. The claim of saffron in pan masala is said to be false The complainant, social activist and BJP leader Indramohan Singh Honey (Advocate), through senior lawyer Vivek Nandwana Advocate, presented a case under Section 89 of the Consumer Protection Act in court on November 13, 2024. The complaint stated that film stars are used to promote Vimal Pan Masala by claiming it contains saffron. This misleads the youth. The market price of saffron is in the lakhs. In such a situation, misleading promotion is done claiming that Vimal Pan Masala contains saffron at such a low price. No concrete evidence has been provided by Vimal Pan Masala in this regard. Other warnings are in such small words that it is not even possible to read them. Notice issued and summoned On this complaint, the commission's chairman Anurag Gautam and member Virendra Singh Rawat issued a notice on February 21, 2025, summoning Shahrukh Khan, Ajay Devgan, Tiger Shroff, and the manufacturer of Vimal Pan Masala to the consumer court. The complainant has demanded an immediate ban on misleading and false advertisements and has also demanded a suitable amount of fine to be imposed on them.
