Another ‘Racist Attack’ In Australia: Indian-Origin Man Attacked With A Machete In Melbourne

Saurabh Anand, a 33-year-old Indian-origin man, is in critical condition after a brutal machete attack by five teenagers outside Altona Meadows shopping centre near Melbourne. The assault occurred as Anand left a pharmacy and was speaking to a friend on the phone. He suffered a near-severed hand, fractured spine, stab wounds, broken bones, and head trauma. Surgeons reattached his hand after hours of surgery, but his recovery remains uncertain. Four teens have been arrested; a 14-year-old from Wyndham faces serious charges. Two have been granted bail.
