Indore Metro rolls out smoothly, thanks to IIT-Bombay’s intervention

Indore’s new Metro line, inaugurated on May 31, owes its smooth operation to a crucial intervention by IIT-Bombay. In 2022, the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation faced failing pile foundation tests due to concrete flow issues. Professor Deepankar Choudhury and his team redesigned the pile cap and proposed supplementary piles after discovering significant gaps in the original construction.
