Bombay HC halts landfilling at Nerul’s Lotus Lake, orders legal action against CIDCO for environmental violations

Following complaints, the Bombay High Court’s wetland committee intervened to halt landfilling at Nerul wetlands, instructing CIDCO to cease activities on the Wetland Atlas-verified water body. The Thane district collector has been directed to initiate legal proceedings against the dumping of construction waste from the airport project at Nerul’s Lotus Lake.
