Another farmer dies amid ongoing protest at Shambhu border:Suffers fatal heart attack; Dallewal’s health worsens on 66th day of hunger strike

Amid the ongoing farmers' protest at the Shambhu border of Punjab and Haryana, another farmer, Pragat Singh from Amritsar, passed away after suffering a heart attack. Singh, a father of two, owned two acres of land and was a part of the protest that has now entered its 12th month. This marks yet another tragic loss in the prolonged farmers' struggle, which is set to complete one year on February 13. Increasing numbers and preparations for Mahapanchayat The farmers at both Shambhu and Khanauri borders are intensifying their presence, as leaders prepare for the three-day farmers' mahapanchayat, scheduled from February 11 to February 13. The protests are drawing in more participants to make their voice heard on issues concerning agricultural policies and farmers' rights. One of the prominent leaders, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, is now on his 66th day of hunger strike. While his fast has garnered attention, it has also taken a toll on his health, leaving him weakened and suffering from fever. Farmers’ strategy for ongoing protest The farmers are laying out their strategy in three main points: Solidarity from religious leaders In a gesture of solidarity, Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh from Shri Kesgarh Sahib Anandpur Sahib visited the Khanauri Kisan Morcha and met farmer leader Dallewal. Before this, Dallewal attended the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib on Thursday, January 30 in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib. Despite feeling unwell, Dallewal's commitment to the cause remains strong as the farmers' focus shifts to the mega panchayats in the coming days.Original Article
