Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Sachdev revealed she has emailed a complaint against the 'habitual offender' for allegedly spreading obscenity and hurting religious sentiments. The advocate has sought action under Indian Penal Code sections 196, 299, and 353, along with relevant IT sections. The complaint accuses Faruqui of mocking multiple religions, making fun of cultural values, spreading obscenity, and polluting people's minds through his content. A BJP leader even announced a reward of 1 lakh rupees for anyone who would beat up Munawar. As the controversy grew, the comedian issued a video apologizing. Munawar Faruqui's controversies include a recent Mumbai hookah parlor detention and a significant 2021 Indore incident. During an Indore show, Hindu organization leaders attended after seeing his previous content on YouTube. When Faruqui allegedly made jokes about local deities during his performance, members of Hind Rakshak confronted him and other comedians, leading to their arrest. The incident resulted in police complaints and jail time. Hafta Vasuli is a comedy roast show with a news bulletin format. Sakib Salim is also appearing in this show along with Munawar. The show has been streaming on Jio Hotstar since February 14. In 2022, Munawar participated in Kangana Ranaut's reality show 'Lock Upp'. He was also the winner of its season 1.
