Income Tax Bill introduced in Lok Sabha: Pages reduced from 823 to 622, crypto assets to come under undisclosed income The new Income Tax Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, February 13, 2025. The 622-page bill will replace the six-decade-old Income Tax Act, 1961. The proposed law will be called the Income Tax Act 2025 and is expected to come into effect from April 2026. 2. According to the India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24 carat gold increased by ₹903 to ₹85,748. 3.Adani Green withdrew Sri Lanka wind project worth $442 mn from Sri Lanka Adani Green Energy announced on Thursday that it is withdrawing from the Renewable Energy (RE) wind power project and two transmission projects in Sri Lanka. While conveying the board's decision to step back from further engagement in these projects, the company reiterated its commitment to Sri Lanka. Adani Green stated that it remains open to future collaboration if the Sri Lankan government desires. 4. RBI lifted ban on Kotak Mahindra Bank regarding credit card issues The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), lifted its ban on Kotak Mahindra Bank, preventing it from issuing new credit cards. On April 24, 2024, RBI had directed Kotak Mahindra Bank to immediately stop issuing new credit cards.
