Canada has announced stricter financial requirements for international students applying for study permits from September 1, 2025. Applicants must now show higher funds for living expenses, transportation, and tuition without relying on employment. The minimum financial threshold for a single applicant has increased to CAN$22,895. Requirements also vary by family size and location, with separate figures for Québec. Acceptable financial proof and documentation standards have also been updated in line with the new rules.
