Centre to fast-track green nods for all Indus river basin projects

Following the government’s decision to keep the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance after the Pahalgam attack, the Centre will expedite environmental clearances for pending and proposed projects in the Indus River Basin in J&K. This initiative aims to maximize water utilization from the river system, prioritizing strategic projects like hydro-electric power and irrigation infrastructure.
