Dhanush has launched a powerful critique of the AI-generated alternate ending added to the Tamil re-release ‘Ambikapathy’ of ‘Raanjhanaa’, which debuted in theaters on August 1, 2025. In his statement titled ‘For the love of cinema’, the actor said he was ‘completely disturbed’ by the change, and emphasized that the new climax cstripped the film of its very soul,’ proceeding in spite of his clear objection. He called for stricter controls on using AI in storytelling to safeguard artistic integrity and the legacy of cinema. Netizens, however, don’t agree with Dhanush. Social media users claimed that Dhanush is upset only because he did not get a share in the re-release and his reaction has nothing to do with creativity.
