Emma Thompson has revealed that Donald Trump once called her unexpectedly, on the very day her marriage to Kenneth Branagh ended in 1998, while she was filming Primary Colors. Speaking at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, Thompson recalled Trump inviting her to stay at one of his “beautiful places” and have dinner together, a move she now believes was part of his team’s search for a “nice divorcée.” She joked that accepting could have “changed American history” but politely declined. Similarly, actress Salma Hayek has claimed that Trump once asked her out despite her having a boyfriend, and when she refused, personal details about her allegedly ended up in the tabloids.
