Gold prices hit a fresh high on Monday, February 10, 2025. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold has increased by ₹669 to ₹85,665. Previously, gold had hit an all-time high of ₹84,699 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, silver prices have also risen today. IBJA data shows the price of 1 kg of silver rose by ₹132 to ₹95,533 per kg, compared to yesterday’s price of ₹95,391 per kg. Silver reached its all-time high on October 23, 2024, touching ₹99,151 per kg. In Delhi, however, gold prices zoomed by ₹2,430 to hit a lifetime high of ₹88,500 per 10 grams on Monday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. The precious metal breached the record $2,900 an ounce level in spot markets globally after US President Donald Trump announced imposition of fresh 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports to the US. Heavy buying by jewellers and retailers also boosted the prices, PTI reported. Investors are dumping riskier assets like stocks as they prefer safe haven amid global economic uncertainties, the report said citing traders. In futures trade on the MCX, gold contracts for April delivery rallied ₹940 to hit a new lifetime high of ₹85,828 per 10 grams. Silver futures for March delivery climbed ₹632 to ₹95,965 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Gold Becomes ₹9,503 Costlier Since January 1 Since the start of this year, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold has increased from ₹76,162 to ₹85,665, marking a rise of ₹9,503. Similarly, the price of silver has surged from ₹86,017 per kg to ₹95,533 per kg, an increase of ₹9,516.
