Amar Upadhyay will soon be seen in Hansal Mehta's web series 'Gandhi'. In a recent conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, he shared several interesting details about it. Only seven episodes, but 110 days of shooting Amar said, 'It has a very big budget and has been shot excellently. It has only seven episodes, but took 110 days for shooting. This was a very big project, where every scene was filmed meticulously. This is the biggest project of my career so far.' The series was shot in several countries, particularly in Bradford, Birmingham and Scotland in the UK. Important sequences were also shot in South Africa. We filmed at places where Gandhi ji traveled to make the story feel authentic. In India, shooting also took place in locations like Pune, Mumbai, Dwarka and Bhuj. It was a multi-location shoot that made this series even more grand. Hansal sir felt that I was perfect for 'Pranjivan Mehta' Amar talked about preparing for his character, 'I did a lot of research on Gandhi ji's life. Hansal sir asked me to test for a role. I went to Mukesh Chabra's office and auditioned for a different character. But later I got the role of 'Pranjiv Mehta', which was much better for me. I think Hansal sir felt that I was the most suitable for this character.' He further said, 'Pranjiv Mehta is a character who was deeply connected to Gandhi ji's life. This character is also modern and required speaking English, Gujarati and Hindi. I felt this role was most appropriate for me.' Pranjivan Mehta's character is important Amar portrays Pranjivan Mehta, Gandhi ji's close friend, in an upcoming series featuring Pratik Gandhi as Mahatma Gandhi. Expressing joy over his career's biggest role, Amar reveals that post-production is nearly complete, with a mid-year release planned.
