The incident took place on Saturday in Sector 34, where Harrdy Sandhu was reportedly performing without the necessary permission. The unexpected incident unfolded during Harrdy Sandhu's performance, leaving the audience surprised and raising concerns about event management protocols. At 5:30 PM, a police team led by DSP Jaswinder Singh arrived at the venue in Sector 34, Chandigarh, and halted the show. Police took Harrdy Sandhu for questioning The police took Hardy Sandhu to Sector-34 police station for questioning. This angered the fans present at the concert. At the station, the police told the show's organizer that they had received information that permission for the show was not taken. Organisers showed proof of permission letters The organiser informed the police team that they had obtained permission from the administration for the program. They also showed the police two permission letters. After this, the police team allowed Hardy Sandhu to leave. The concert then resumed. However, the police did not disclose from whom they received the information about the lack of permission for the concert. For the unversed, Chandigarh administration decided that no live concerts or similar large gatherings will be allowed at Sector 34 ground. The decision was made following demands from political parties and citizen groups, who urged the administration to stop permitting large-scale concerts and events at Sector 34 ground. They argued that such gatherings caused disturbances for residents, led to traffic and parking issues, and negatively affected local businesses. Resistance to live events at Sector 34 ground started after the announcement of Diljit Dosanjh’s concert, which was even challenged in the high court. Although the event was ultimately permitted, it came with strict conditions, including noise level restrictions. During the concert, noise levels reportedly surpassed the limits set by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. In response, the deputy commissioner established three monitoring teams, each led by an SDM, to ensure compliance, with the upper noise limit set at 75 decibels.Original Article
