HC asks Mohammed Shami to pay Rs 4L instead of Rs 1.3L as maintenance to estranged wife

The Calcutta High Court has significantly increased the monthly maintenance allowance for Hasin Jahan, estranged wife of cricketer Mohammed Shami, and their daughter. The court raised the amount to ₹1.5 lakh for Jahan and ₹2.5 lakh for their daughter, acknowledging that a wife’s income doesn’t negate her right to financial relief.
