ICC announce match officials for Champions Trophy 2025:Richard Kettleboroug leads 15-member contingent for Pakistan-UAE tournament

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a 15-member match officials panel for the 2025 Champions Trophy on Wednesday (February 5), scheduled across Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates from February 19 to March 9. Veteran officials to take guard Six officials from the 2017 tournament return to duty, headlined by Richard Kettleborough, who officiated the previous edition's final in the United Kingdom. The English umpire, with 108 ODI appearances, leads the returning contingent alongside Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker. World Cup experience Fresh from their 2023 World Cup final duties in Ahmedabad, Kettleborough and Illingworth join fellow World Cup officials Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Alex Wharf and Joel Wilson. Record Holder Sri Lankan umpire Dharmasena will extend his national record of 132 ODI appearances during the tournament. Elite referees The Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees contributes David Boon, Ranjan Madugalle and Andrew Pycroft. Boon and Madugalle bring final-stage experience from 2017 and 2013 respectively. Tournament venues The eight-team competition spans four venues: Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi in Pakistan with Dubai hosting the UAE leg.
