Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, the flag of all 7 participating teams was hoisted in Karachi, except the Indian tri-colour. A video of the same is going viral on social media. For the unversed, the Indian team will not play its Champions Trophy matches in Pakistan, rather they will be in action in Dubai. The BCCI had refused to send the Indian team across the border, and already a controversy has seemingly unfolded a day before the tournament gets underway on 19 February. The video in question shows the flags of all seven participating teams were visible at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, but the Indian flag was missing. Indian flag missing from Champions Trophy event The clip was widely shared by fans on social media with the Indian tricolor missing from the venue. Watch: While the exact reason for the absence of the tricolour remains unknown, one can only wonder why only the Indian flag was missing, while flags of all other countries were hoisted. This, after the Indian government refused to send the team across the border, and the BCCI, PCB and ICC had to agree to a hybrid model for the mega event. India vs Pakistan on 23 February The Indian team are all set to begin their campaign on 20 February against Bangladesh while hosts Pakistan will face New Zealand in the tournament opener. The two arch-rivals will then meet on 23 February in a highly anticipated affair which could well define the fate of the group.
