Mumbai Indians have found the replacement for mystery spinner Allah Ghanzafar. The Afghanistan spin wizard will be replaced by his compatriot Mujeeb-ur-Rahman. The five-time IPL champions announced the update on their social media handles roping in a like-for-like replacement days after it was confirmed that Ghanzafar would miss four months through a fracture. "Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the Afghan off-spinner has been signed by Mumbai Indians as a replacement for Allah Ghazanfar who has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an injury," read MI's post on social media. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman replaces Allah Ghanzafar The Afghanistan star made his IPL debut at the age of 17, having played over 300 T20 matches with nearly 330 dismissals to his name at an impressive economy of 6.5. The Mumbai Indians recently became the first franchise with five league titles in five different countries as their sister franchises MI New York, MI Emirates, MI (WPL), and SA20. Last year, Allah Ghanzafar replaced Mujeeb-ur-Rahman in the Kolkata Knight Riders' squad and this year Mujeeb will replace his compatriot at MI. Earlier the Hardik Pandya-led unit had signed Allah for Rs 4.80 crore in the IPL mega auction. Mujeeb has previously played for PBKS, SRH Mujeeb has previously played for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He has played 19 matches in the cash-rich league with 19 wickets at an average of 31.25 and an economy of 7.25. There could be further bowling troubles for the Mumbai Indians as Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the Champions Trophy and he is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.Original Article
