Maharashtra govt issues fresh guidelines on action against prisoners overstaying leave

The Maharashtra Home Department has mandated strict action against prisoners who overstay their leave, following High Court directives. A show-cause notice will be issued, followed by a reasoned order and proposed punishment, subject to approval from the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons.
